Who would have thought that during a vice presidential debate both candidates – including one that previously said she’d ban fracking – came out in support of the practice and the amazing benefits of natural gas? Apparently, everyone but fractivist Josh Fox – you know, that guy that made that factually inaccurate documentary about fracking – and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the lead author of the Green New Deal who’s plan got knocked down repeatedly by Vice President Mike Pence (R) and previous GND sponsor Sen. Kamala Harris (D) last night.
As the VP hopefuls were repeatedly singing the praises of fracking, a practice that unlocked U.S. domestic energy production helping to improve the economy, create jobs, lower energy bills, reduce emissions and increase energy security, Fox and AOC doubled down on Twitter with false messaging that is rightly being dismissed – dare we say, ignored – on the national stage.
We’re not sure how helpful those tweets were, especially in Pennsylvania and Ohio where trade unions are consistently busy thanks to shale development and all of the projects it’s spurred.
To the haters: The benefits of natural gas are real – as it appears Sen. Harris is now recognizing and Pres. Trump, VP Pence and former VP Biden have been saying, well, aside for a few confusing moments, pretty much forever. And that’s a fact, we’re sure even the fly would agree on.
